Ukrainian Wedding is a unique traditional ceremony
What immediately makes Ukrainian Wedding unique is that we never say “to celebrate”, but always use “to play a wedding”. It comes from local traditions, when Ukrainian wedding was not just a party but a complete set of rituals which symbolized the creation of a new family and prophesied its wellness for a long time. It is more an interactive show than just a wedding party. The Ukrainian word for wedding — “vesillia” — is derived from the word “veselytysia” — that means to have fun, play and celebrate.
