Pervomaisk was the former location of the 46th Division of the 43rd Rocket Army of the Soviet Strategic Rocket Forces, formed during the Cold War.

After the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine inherited 2,000 warheads (Ballistic Missile Base), the third-largest cache in the world.

During the trip to Pervomaysk (Nikolaevskiy region) you will see an amazing transformation of one stockpile from a cluster of silos to a field of sunflowers.
